EUROPEAN TOUR COMMITTEE RULES (2024)

Some new rules for 2024 and the adjustments for the tour

Welcome all,

In the words of what the Ryder cup stands for and golf itself " it's a gentleman's game, played with

honesty, integrity & with sportsmanship at its foundation"

To golf & sports enthusiasts around the globe, Jack Nicklaus emulated what it's all about by

conceding the final slippery 2ft putt in the 1969 Ryder Cup at Royal Birkdale which remains one of

the greatest acts of sportsmanship ever.

Simply referred to as “the concession,” Nicklaus' of team USA gracious act towards fellow competitor

Tony Jacklin of team Europe resulted in the first ever tie in Ryder Cup history.

So, with that in mind we have drawn up some additional guidelines & rules to try and eliminate a few

grey areas recently highlighted within the group regarding our rules and guidelines.

All the standard R&A rules of golf apply to all players whilst playing in any of our cutting and Tour

events but.........

There are some special additions to these rules that we the committee have decided are needed

especially for OUR cutting events and Tour events that were somewhat of a grey area.... until now.

Here we will start to outline our rules and the contents of those rules in a document that will be held

on our portal for all to view and updated when needed and how they apply to us all whilst playing

with the European Tour Group (ETG).

1. Any new players (and all are welcome) that attend a cutting event or Tour will be liable to a

handicap review on their 1st event.

year with the winner of CE4 of the pre-Tour. There after the winner of each CE will assist in organising

the next CE along with the committee for that year.

2a. CE Winners receives a 2-shot adjustment and is liable to additional adjustments in relation to the

field averages on the day.

Champion golfer.

3d. Last place on the day will get an additonal 2 shot minimum increase for the following day.

3e. All players could be liable for a cut or increase depending on the average score on the

day compared to their final score on that day.

Rule 4 - Pre Tour Maximum Handicap player reviews:

4. If due to a low history of points scoring during the current tour years cutting events & whilst

playing off the maximum Men's HC of 28, certain players fail to score above an average amount of

points during that period, they will be eligible for a "review of their HC" prior to an actual Tour Trip.

This will give that individual more of a chance to be completive in their game on tour.

4.a.

A player playing off 28 all year is deemed to need "further support" to make them more competitive

in their game on Tour by the committee, they too will get a "review of their HC".

* Note *

Both rule 4 & 4a will only take place after the last CE prior to a tour. No further amendments to this

rule will be made whilst away on tour. To be conducted by the elected committee (top 3 players

from last year's tour).

No players on handicaps of 27 or below will be entitled to a handicap review.

Closing statement

That concludes the updates for Tour 23, but if you feel we need to add more additional rules and

guidelines into this document to aid fairness and sportsmanship to our tour, please contact a

committee member who will then raise it at board level to be approved.

Thank you for your continued support and as always ....enjoy the Tour!!

It promises to be an epic year this year and may the best team and individuals win.

Regards

D’Committee.
